designing the cutest trash bin.

50 years since its inception, Sesame Street is still staying relevant yet true to its core values of helping kids to be SMARTER, STRONGER, and KINDER.
Universal Studios Singapore (USS) at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) celebrated its 50 years of positive influence with a special anniversary event back in March of 2019. In line with RWS and the Sesame Street spirit of giving back to the community, USS explored a partnership with a local charity organization (Autism Resource Centre) by organising an exhibition inspired by Oscar The Grouch and his iconic trash can. This exhibition aimed to raise awareness as well as funds to support the special needs community in Singapore.

I was given a wonderful opportunity to be part of this campaign by painting and designing my very own trash can that will be exhibited alongside over 40 trash cans around Resort World's Sentosa.

Design Concept: Bringing Colours into My Life
Growing up, I remembered sitting in front of my television in the afternoon, anticipating for Sesame Street to start. It was one of the few things I look forward to on the weekdays. I remembered constantly singing along to the hit show tunes and replying back to the characters on the screen. When I think about this wonderful show's 50th birthday coming up, I instantly think about the way of colours that this show has brought into my life over the years. SS has always been my inspiration in bringing colours and happiness into everything I do and hence, my design is a representation of that.
